Finds of animal hides in barrow cemeteries of the Middle Bronze Age

Abstract

The unique organic remains from the cemetery of Tumulus culture at Hvožďany and Plav were subject to material research. The chemical identification of organic remains, animal origin of leathers and tanning method were studied.

This article interprets the original usage of these leathers in archeological context and completes the information about used materials from dress remains of Tumulus culture of the Middle Bronze Age worn in Central Europe.
