Abstrakt
The lecture gives a short survey on the development of the Brno city slang Hantec describing its tight relationship with the Bavarian dialects of Austria. Furthermore it points out, how, at present, its revival is encouraged in public life by song lyrics, radio features, theater adaptations, online dictionaries, restaurant menus and beer advertisments on posters and in television.
