Abstract
The paper presents data analysis from a sample of the senior population in Prague, which were gathered as a part of international project "Measuring quality of senior life and healthy aging". We were trying to investigate in which areas quality of life declines with age, if there is difference in quality of life of older men and women and if quality of life is more related to biological, psychological or social factors.
Results from the Czech sample are compared with results from Western European states. The paper also introduces the following instruments in detail: the World Health Organization Quality of Life for Older Persons (WHOQOL-OLD) and The Attitudes to Ageing Questionnaire (AAQ).
