Abstract
The article concerns with the topic of education in the context of the philosophy of Jan Patočka. It reveals the relationship between Patočka's theory of education as a movement of human existence and modern European traditions.
Education is understood as both dialogue and conflict across the generations; as both continuity of culture and discontinuity of necessary metamorphoses.
