Abstract
The book ranks with the social and cultural history. In it mingles the general typisation approach to the characterization of structures with the microanalysis of the story - of concrete life stories.
In local setting of the village Ouběnice in Central Bohemia it aims at finding a horizon that would make possible to know better the village community and evaluate the role of group or individual in the context of the times. The primary object of study is the everyday life, but also broader economic and political processes and events that in the course of centuries influenced the life of the villagers.
