Abstract
Domestic violence is the leading cause of disability and death for European women aged 16-44 prior to cancer, traffic accidents and even war conflicts. Every fifth woman becomes a victim of violence every day.
Costs associated with domestic violence are for medical and health care services at the same high level as for jurisdiction, employers and the police.
