Functional Stratification of the Czech Language in Doctor-Patient Dialogues

Abstract

Medical students studying in the English program learn Czech in order to be prepared for doctor-patient communication. Students have to be able to lead a diagnostic dialogue with a patient.

As patients speak spontaneously, students also have to be prepared for non-standard language forms. By analyzing student questionnaires, I want to show which non-standard forms the Czech classes should present to foreign medical students.
