PRE-COOL - pre-hospital hypothermia after cardiac arrest

Abstract

Pre-hospital induction of therapeutic mild hypothermia may reduce post-cardiac arrest brain injury in patients resuscitated from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Authors present available methods for pre-hospital induction of therapeutic hypothermia and a prospective observational study PRE-COOL assessing feasibility and effectiveness of pre-hospital cooling in the setting of Emergency Medical Services in the Czech Republic.
