A Few Notes About Minorities "Public" View of History (Trough the example of the autochthonous Jewish and Roma minorities in the Czech Lands)

Publication |

Abstract

Our construction of two minorities asynchronous views of history has shown a number of differences in the extent of acceptance of majority historiography, its periodisation and dramatisation, selection, tabooing, looking for allies and enemies, and differences in visions of the future. Views of history have always been given by the answer to the question of whether to assimilate into the majority or to be emancipated from it.
