Abstract
The conception of the doublet Christ - Antichrist originates, according to Patočka, in Platos philosophy. It should concern the deformed philosophical theory of antipode, the couple philosopher (spiritual one) - sophist (intellectual) from Platos dialogue Sophist.
The article traces some marks of this motive in Patočkas work, as well as in the context of European tradition of thought. The theme is explained in more detail by the example of the life of Jan Hus.
