Apoptosis of cells in the subependymal layer of the lateral brain ventricles in a reaction to the neurodegenerative process within the striatum

Abstract

The study proved evident increase of numbers of apoptotic cells (with peak approx. on 12th day after lesion) in the SEL as a consequence of the progression of neurodegenerative process within the striatum of adult rats (a model of Huntington's disease).
