As glutathione belongs to the most important intracellular antioxidants, determination of its content is essential for characterization of the cell redox state. The most common technique for glutathione determination became HPLC, however, spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric methods are still used in clinical practice.
Our aim was to find fast and lower-cost non-HPLC method which would give comparable results to HPLC assay. The spectrofluorimetric method that has been selected and optimized provides results comparable to HPLC/FD method beeing simulatenously faster and cheaper.
