Abstract
Legislative defition of patient entitlement to access to care under health insurance system does not comply with economic possibilities of the system. Physician is legally and ethically bound to provide care on the level of current findings of medical science, but at the same time faces the limits set by the provider-employer.
The article analyzes possible pathways available to the physician in overcoming this legal and ethical conflict.
