Abstract
A popularizing biographical article concerning the outstanding philologist of Slavonian origin Matija Murko, written on the occasion of his anniversary. The article is focused on Murko's contacts with Czech slavists and his organizational work at Charles University and in the Slavic Institute in the 20's and 30's of the 20th century.
