Dental pulp stem cells - in vitro. Differentiation possibilities

Abstract

The aim of this study was to demostrate the ability of dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) to differentiate into mature cell lines. Isolated DPSC lines were exposed to maturation-inducing factors that simulated DPSC to differentiate into mature cell lines (osteoblasts, chondroblasts and adipocytes).

We isolated 3 lines of DPSC and gradually differentiated into osteoblasts and chondroblasts like cells. DPSC which were exposed to adipogenic media did not showed any signs of differentiation.

DPSC are highly proliferative cell lines which are able to differentiate into mature cellular elements.
