The aim of the research realised by the Department of Information Technology and Technical Education, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague was to verify the benefits of implementing student portfolios into teacher education. To this end, a software solution was prepared and six subject areas of extramural Information Technology Bachelor study programme with a focus on general education were chosen.
Into these subjects, an electronic portfolio was implemented as a tool to support evaluation, cooperation, communication and administration of the content between students and teachers with social network aspects. This article deals with the issue of digital content and student portfolios.
It summarizes the most important steps of the research; it describes its conclusions and outlines future steps of its protagonists and their workplace.
