The article presents Roman terracotta lamps from the rescue excavations in Plovdiv. Overall 38 fragments of lamps were registered.
The most common finds refer to the Italian production of mould-made Type Loeschcke VIII (produced from the second half of the first to the third century AD). Only the most diagnostic pieces are published here, including six of the best preserved lamps and five decorated fragments.
Late Roman period is substituted by less material; only one intact find made on potter's wheel and produced by a local workshop was recognized (dated from the third to the fourth century AD).
