Is Means-Ends Rationality Dominant? On some Interpretations of Weber's Typology of Action

Abstract

This article discusses some earlier and more recent interpretations of Max Weber's typology of action and argues against such readings of it that accord more than just heuristic primacy to means-ends rationality.
