Abstract
The paper is focused on so called NoSQL databases. In context of cloud computing, architectures and basic features of these databases are studied, particularly their data model, ways of querying, implementation and storage techniques.
We present also some concurrency models used in NoSQL databases that are mostly weaker than ACID transactions in relational SQL-like database systems. Finally, the paper contains an overview of some representatives of NoSQL databases including their basic characteristics.
