Abstract

A brand new interpretation of Descarte's early philosophy focuses on his use of imagination and images in the course of the proces of argumentation. The corpus of texts considered contains the Compendium of Music, The rules how to guide the reason, Studium bonae mentis, Olympica, Parnassus etc.

The book is the first ever interpretation of Descarte's early philosophy in Czech context and its ambition is to reshape the ordinary "concept" of Descarte's philosophy which is based on the prevailing interpretation of his Mediations about the First Philosophy.
