Abstract

The development and the structure of health care costs in the Czech Republic have been transformed in the last twenty years. The average annual growth rate is significantly higher than the average rate of GDP growth, which, together with the ongoing process of demographic aging, can lead to significant increases in the cost of health care.

This threat applies also the largest health insurance company (General Health Insurance Company of the Czech Republic).
