The text deals with the international aspects of the Polish crisis, especially the events of early December 1980. At the time, the first attempt of the Eastern bloc to resolve the situation in PLR on a multilateral basis occured.
In Moscow took place a meeting of party leaders of the Warsaw Pact member states, on the Polish border Soviet, Czechoslovak and East German troops were concentrated. However, the Kremlin conceived any military solution different than the suppression of the Prague Spring - Soviet aim was not to take action against the Polish leadership, but rather to support its position.
