This article deals with the life story of Ernst Johann von Biron from his birth to his death. It is devoted in more detail to key events of Biron's life - e.g. when he was elected as Duke of Courland, regency for infant Tsar Ivan VI or his dethronement.
The article also deals with Biron's personality traits, relation to Tsarina Anna Ivanovna and influence on Russian home and foreign politics. You can read in the last paragraphs of the article how Ernst Johann von Biron has been perceived and evaluated during centuries.
