Quality of life is usually explored by using an inventory constructed by professionals thus adults. Relatively little number of works concern on children's own understanding of the term quality of life and its assessment.
Research in qualitative approach was done with 148 children 8-11 years old. Children answered three questions: 1.What do you conceive under term "quality of life at children"? 2.
How would you explain the term "quality of life at children" to your younger comrade? 3. Remember your schoolfellows or comrades and fill the form: a) describe an example of child who lives in bad life conditions, worse than most of other children you know, b) describe an example of child who lives in normal usual life conditions, c) describe an example of child who lives in excellent life conditions, better than most of other children you know.
Results showed the children better distinguish between normal and bad life conditions than between normal and excellent ones. Excellent life conditions were appreciated also with negative attributes, child is spoiled, snotty, etc.
