Abstract
The fact that Great Britain had turned out to be a tea loving nation had momentous historical consequences. British obsession with a traditional Chinese drink had changed history.
In the modern period Great Britain had quickly developed a taste for Chinese tea. The article analyzes how tea became the most popular British drink and the economical and political consequences of British love for the Chinese tea.
