Abstract

Reviewed articles unifie a topic of Christian origins and communities in the area around the ancient city of Augusta Emerita in Spain, conceived on the basis of interpretation of written sources (especially the letter 67 of the bishop Cyprian of Karthago dated back to the middle of the 3rd century), epigraphic monuments and archaeological evidence. Contributions are focused on the development and character of the local church communities in ancient Hispania, their social position in the society and the cult of saints.
