Abstract

The author deals with the relationship between the language realia and socio-cultural competence. Understands the realia (life and institutions) of knowledge, socio-cultural competence as a skill.

The importance of knowledge of Czech life and institutions to cope with Czech as a foreign language demonstrated in numerous examples from the Czech Cultural phraseology.
