When preparing young people for the sacrament of confirmation, it is important to have konwledge of developmental psychology of their age group. The adolescents need to discuss things, they need intensive experiences, expecially in a group of peers; it is important for them to have a feeling of freedom and to be accpted by the adults - then they are capable of great enthusiasm and effort.
Young adults are able to see a thing from many different angles; therefore, a compromise does not mean a failur to them. They strive to find and realize basic social roles - as professionals, partners and parents.
This can be, esperially towards the end of the stage, accompanied by psychical discomfort with a tendency towards a change.
