The aim of the article is to present a concept of digital content emphasizing its new shape and ways to be developed and shared on Web 2.0 principles. Due to recent EU initiatives, a great number of digital materials, resources, and services for education have been designed and produced in recent years.
Digital content from materials such as these is expected to be re-used many times in different educational and technological contexts, and implemented in different learning platforms and systems. The article brings some examples of digital content collected in fundamental repositories and sumarises some experiences with digital content in Education in Europe gathered in last ten years.
