Abstract
This interdisciplinary article is dedicated to one of the few surviving samples of writing by students of Jesuit schools: an elegy penned the Klatovy grammar school student Tomáš Bodl. The article includes an edition of the text, its metred translation, a commentary and a detailed prosopographic note.
