To be oneself. A Critique of Heidegers Conception of the authentic Existence

Publication at Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Arts |
2013

Abstract

The study shows that Heideggers conception of being oneself is grounded in his theory of individuality which, in turn, is based in a certain notion of identity. Relations among these notions are elaborated and an alternative to them is presented.

In the critical part, the consequences of Heidegers notion “resoluteness” for human self-understanding are shown and set against the phenomenon of finding oneself in a certain life possibility.
