Methods for the electrochemical determination of chlortoluron, phenylurea herbicide applied against broadleaf weeds, were developed, using differential pulse voltammetry on carbon paste electrodes of two diameters. Optimum determination medium was selected and the possibility of determination in model samples of river water was confirmed.
The determination limits reached submicromolar concentration. The performance of both electrodes was comparable; electrode of smaller dimensions was able to work in sample volume of 0.25 mL.
