Abstract

Deoxyribonucleic acid as well as other nucleic acids and aptamers are utilized for about two decades as biorecognition elements at so called nucleic acids biosensors. These biosensors represent analytical devices that integrate nucleic acid as the biological recognition element and a physicochemical transducer, for instance an electrode.
