Abstract
The thesis focuses on current social and cultural changes associated with the birth of the low-carbon society. This society lowers its dependendcy on the fossil fuels, as well as the overall energy consumption (and the amount of CO2 emissions as well).
These changes are driven mainly by the concern of the anthropogenic climate changes. The thesis deals with this issues from the social sciences perspective, we use theoretical framework of the contemporary cultural ecology.
The empirical research methods are mainly sociological and combine both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
