Abstract

Paper present a case of study, where is analyzed and then evaluated the degree of muscle activity and timing of upper trapezius muscle, lower trapezius muscle and deltoitd muscle during abduction in the shoulder, resisted by elastic band (yellow Thera-Band) in the aquatic environment and on land by 4 healthy women. As on objectification method was chosen surface electromyography, modified for registration of muscle activity in water environment - water surface EMG (WaS EMG).

The degree of muscle activity of upper trapezius in the aquatic environment significantly decrease. It wasn't confirmed, that the upper trapezius muscle is activated later in the water than on land.

Timing of selected muscle in the aquatic environmnet is individual.
