Abstract

The article deals with a problem of a southern Bohemian border in the moment of creation of the independent Czechoslovak state in 1918. Since the frontier became a line between two states - Czechoslovakia and Austria, it was necessary to newly establish its protection.

This task was that more urgent as there was still the same currency in both states and the State bank in Vienna relentlessly continued in emitting notes that had no cover at all and only increases an already high inflation. In two months, Czechoslovakia prepared such measures that enabled a hermetic closure of border traffic and realization of notes stamping in all regions under control of Prague government.
