The study deals with "interior vision", as one of the important thematic issues of international Symbolism, and analyzes the notional as well as the extra- linguistic reality of this expression in poetic texts from the turn of the 20th century, with special focus on the works of F. X. Šalda, Miloš Marten, Julius Zeyer, František Bílek and Otokar Březina.
The study explores the contextual changes of this expression and reflects the evidence it gives about a human being's "anchoring" in one's body (including the problem of communication, the issue of intuitive cognition, and the search for an artistic expressive medium).
