The concept of Faculty of Humanities, particularly of Department of Social Studies, is based on the idea of Interdisciplinarity. This influences both aspects of our work - teaching and research.
Teaching of Methodology of Social Sciences in our Department is shaped by interchanges among several disciplines: Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology and Economy. We concentrate on how the declared aim of Interdisciplinarity is implemented in practice.
Multidisciplinary discussion produces specific debates - including discussion about qualitative research. Examples of discussion topics include the role of theory in research, terminology used, forms of research strategies, and particularly selection of relevant research topics.
We give specific examples of how boundaries of these various disciplines are defined and how they tend to vanish.
