Abstract
The contribution is focused on issues specific type of counseling, that develops in the Czech Republic only briefly. The social worker, who is providing debt counseling, needs not only well versed in many laws, but also work with case law - in the contribution is presented the scope of these basic knowledge both theoretically and practically on the example of casuistry.
It is mentioned the advantages, but also the limits and potential risks of debt counseling which the social workers provide.
