Abstract
The paper studies attitudes of students towards coures in social sciences and towards social sciences in general at a universisty of technology. The study is based on the students' survey of evaluation of teaching, questionnaires, students' essays and participating observation in social science courses.
Preliminary findings show that the attitudes is not ideal for teaching. The author formulates a hypothesis about the influence of the social climate of the university and its inertia on the position of the students.
