Abstract
The book is a comparative historical study dealing with the development of sport and the Olympic Movement, especially in the countries of today's so-called Visegrad Four. It charts the development of the Olympic Movement from its origins in these states, with particular emphasis on the period after the Second World War.
Much detail is processed to the time after the fall of communist regimes in these countries. The research tries to capture how the development of sport and the Olympic movement was influenced by the development of social and political area.
