Criminal policy, criminological research and the problems of the "war on crime" on the begin of 21st century

Abstract

The paper is dealing with the analysis of the criminal policy implemented on the begin of 21st century in developed countries, including short comments on the absence of relevant criminological findings and informs on some interesting connections between more or less moderate punitive policies and the level of political culture in various countries.
