Collection of up to now untranslated short stories of the Italian writer Italo Svevo conducts a survey of his creative career, from the first texts from the late 80 of the 19th century, over twenty years when Svevo attempted to abandon literary creation, to the texts written during the author's last creative period, dated from the publication of the novel Zeno's Conscience (1923), which brought him fame and success. Some of the last stories can be read as chapters or fragments of the planned fourth novel in which Zeno's story was to continue, but that the author did not have a chance to finish.
