The study is the part of the thesis project under a double, French-Czech supervision, and it deals with a vocalic length and its position in a phonetic and phonological system of a Czech and French language. The thesis is divided into two parts.
The first, theoretic is aimed at detailed description and comparison of vocalic systems of both mentioned languages from the quantitative point of view. In the second part, based on experiment, we try to verify whether our corpus is phonetically and statistically balanced.
The analysis of example study is introduced: the comparison of the production of one native speaker and one Czech speaking French.
