Chronic course of schizophrenia results in severe functional impairment, social and vocational. Various nonspecific instruments can be used to measure functional capacity of psychiatric patients; Personal and Social Performance Scale was designed to assess impairment in schizophrenia.
The aim of our cross-sectional study was (1) to examine in a random sample of schizophrenia outpatients severity of social and functional impairment, and (2) to examine a relationship between functional impairment and current antipsychotic treatment and defined demographic variables.
