Abstract
Numerous written and archaeological sources which reflect the relationship between the Egyptian king and the god Ra are known from ancient Egypt. From this point of view the eldest corpus of religious texts, called the Pyramid Texts, is very significant.
In this source we can find a lot of mentions of the relationship. The god Ra appears as the guarantor of the resurrection and eternal life of the king; he provides offerings and ensures protection.
Last but not least Ra is closely connected with Egyptian kingship.
