Abstract
It is well-known that Václav Čtvrtek used often inspirations for his fairy tales from the town of Jičín. He spent there a part of his childhood at his grandfather during World War I.
An article finds prototypes of manikin Kazbunda (from fairy tales about Křemílek and Vochomůrka) and gunsmith Halíř (from stories about Rumcajs and Cipísek). Little writer could hear both names during his stay in Jičín.
František Halíř (1871-1941) lived and ran gunsmith's workshop and shop in this town. The name Kazbunda could be connected with Tomáš Kazbunda (1827-1907), a well-known teacher and school inspector, or his son Karel (1888-1982), who became a famous historian and archivist.
The article includes short biografies of these three men and reflections if they really were the inspirations for Čtvrtek's characters.
