How to do it!? Diagnostics of musical abilities at contemporary school

Abstract

The focus of the publication is a methodological process of development of collective tests of musical abilities and worksheets for pupils of 1st, 4th and 6th classes at primary school, the issue of implementing the test in the lesson and evaluation of results. Author outlines the historical development of testing of musicality, defines the basic concepts of musicality, musical abilities and skills, test, visualization, motivation, brings ideas from abroad and our tests of musicality and outlines the development of musical abilities of young children.

Core of the publication is to present the author's own creation methodical series of tests for diagnostic purposes for music education teacher at a primary school teacher and music theory in music school. Included in the Annex is the complete text of tests, including sheet music examples, worksheets and CD typing in mp3.

The book draws on results of the research I conducted in 2009 in 19 classes of 7 primary schools.
