Autochtonous populations of the great predators were exterminated in course of 18th century in the Czech lands, remnant populations of the Bear in Bohemian Forest and and the Wolf and the Lynx in the Czech part of the Carpathians survived until 19th century. As desired result of species protection applied in Slovakia the Bear, the Wolf and the Lynx return back to the area they were pushed out from by humans.
This study presents historical facts essential for their protection.
