Case Study: History of Forests and Forestry

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2012

Abstract

During the second half of 20th century a fundamental conflict emerged between foresters traditionally oriented towards profit on one side, and the part of the public, which considers the so-called non-production functions of the forest to be more important , on the other. To understand the whole issue, it is necessary to present whole genesis of the modern forestry.

The presented study deals with the history of forestry in the Middle-European region.
